Hello Boater76;<br />You've probly seen this several thimes on this board, but here goes. First do a good visual inspection under the hood, then do a compression test on all cyls.( should not vary more than 15lbs from hi to lo), next check spark on all cyls. you should see a nice blue spark that will jump at least a 1/2" gap. The only thing is to check the gear case lube it should be fairly clean and not showing any signs of water(milky) If all this checks out good I would think that you're getting a pretty good motor.<br />Hope this helps
