I have a 1975 "850" 4 cylinder which I believe is the same as yours, but having 4 openings instead of the 6 you have on the timing disk.
The two grease fittings do not lube the distributor shaft bearings. They grease the advance timing housing. The distributor shaft uses two sealed pre-lubed bearings.Distributor Bearings are 6002-2RS and R8-2RS. On mine, one of the bearing cages came apart, locking up the bearing.
After you pull the timing pulley off, there is a strange nut under it. It has an internal tabbed lock washer. Look at the several locking slots and you will see one or two of them has the locking tabs bent into them. These tabs must be bent back towards the shaft before removing the nut.
Also be very careful when pulling the shaft out. The timing disk must remain in the housing under the pickup. The rotor is part of the shaft, do not attempt to remove it. You really need a manual to see how the parts stack up.
