My 1987 Merc 115hp I6 has a trim and tilt problem. When I trim it up on the trailer above the running position (as in the trailering mode) it leaks down. As i am in the process of a complete restoration process on the hull and have not run the motor in the water yet I dont know if it will leak down under load as in running. So my question is does or has anyone had this type of problem before and shall I expect it to leak down under running pressure. I have bleed and refilled the unit with the proper fluid and it still does this. If anyone knows if I should expect it to leak down under load do I have to replace the unit with another and does it have to come of a Inline 6 motor or can I use a V6 model of the same year??
