Hey guys, picked up this merc from a boat I bought on a auction not a merc that I have seen before, or well the ones I am use to, nice looking engine doesn't have more than 50hrs on it but had a lot of sun, there is no plate on it except for the round alum plate on the engine block itself with the following number on it: 0P025350 - can one of the merc guru's please tell me what year this is? Also having a bit of an issue with sync up the carbs, the motor starts first time but dies when I put in forward, when it eventually goes after a few rev ups, she has a little miss to it, I saw that the carbs need to be synced as all the butterflies are not aligned when all the way open or closed, the links do not adjust as they are solid but the the screw on the link clip seems to be adjustable although impossible to get loose ... the motor is also ridiculously heavy on fuel ..... any help would be appreciated .....

Here is a manual you can download for your 1999 motor. Section 2-C covers the sync & link.
