I'm working on a friends chrysler 12.9hp model 124HA serial 1500. First of all, what year is this? Second of all, I'm trying to get at the carbeurator to rebuild it but can't get at it cause the electric starter assembly above the flywheel won't come off. how do you remove the assembly(or starter than bracket) so I can remove the carb? One more thing, is 50:1 correct mix?

Thanks Guys!
Kevin

Hi Kevin, You are working on a 1971 auto electric model. The mix is 50:1. You will need a manual to show you how to deal with the recoil starter. You will also need it to complete the rest of your tune-up. No sence horsing around, get the book do it right. So much easier, and less expencive too.

Re: 12.9hp chrysler help!

Hi Kevin I to have recently got a Chrysler 12.9, Model 122BC,Serial #1297, I bought a book from Amazon.com for doing the maintence on this motor. the book is excellent. Is your running or not? Does it seem to be miss firing? Your points (dual set), may need to be sanded clean and reset. This is an easy task if you can remove the flywheel. I used a large three jaw puller, I put a slight load on the puller then I tapped the bolt of the puller and off came the flywheel. The point gap is 0.020" Colin
