Hi I was wondering what a 12' semi V starcraft (aluminum) with a trailer (trailer is able to handel much larger boat 20 ft or so) and minkota 17 ld thrust motor would be worth? He is throwing in life jackets oars and anchors (no battery for motor). All lights work for trailer and I have a 7.5 johnson that I'd be putting on (correct height). There is some problems that I can see the wood on the transom is starting to deteriorate on the outside edges a tad but I figure some pressure treated can be bolted on, and a new paint job would be nice too. What else should I look at before deciding? Thanks in advance James

out here in Ca. That boat might fetch $500.00<br />I paid 850 for my 12' with a 7.5 honda. but I had to buy my trolling motor.(100.00) oars (14.00)and life jackets (10.00x2). I thought I got a good deal. If the price is right go for it starcraft are good boats.

Srarcraft does make a good boat. Make sure there are no leaks either by putting it in the water or filling the boat with water. You are right- the transom boards are easy to fix.

Re: 12' semi V

Thanks bluewater and Jack Shellac, I will have to see what type of deal I can cut with the guy. Maybe he'd take $400-$450 he is asking $500. Jack am I thinking right saying that I can just cut off the posts holding in the old transom boards and bolting on new ones with bolts similar in size? I am in Jamestown NY is there anyone in the area that can verify that this is a fair price $500 ish? I found a semi V 12 fter without a trailer just boat for $350 and that seems a little high for the boat so I am thinking if I can get this I may be able to upgrade in the future at minimal cost just sellig the boat since the trailer will take a bigger boat (hopefully I can get a 16fter Deep V and a 15-30 hp engine fairly cheap in the next couple years). Thanks Again James

Yeah, it's that simple on an aluminum boat. Just be sure to use sealer on the bolt holes.

Thanks Jack I will try to use this to use this as a way to make him come down a little. I will have to wait untill this weekend (He is about 1.5 hrs from me and I am working 10-14 hrs a day so I just don't have time to make it up there). Hopefully by nextweekend I'll be on the lake. Thanks James
