12 volt plug

hooked up 2 marinco plugs on boat and they work with spot light and with a flip phone charger. however they don't work with my droid phone charger, have tried 2 different chargers which both work in my truck. tried switching wires to outlet no difference. any1 have a solution what might be wrong?

It's the sockets themselves, not the wiring. While they appear to be of a standard specification, there are differences among plugs and sockets, sometimes enough to prevent a connection from being made.

Yep............... some newer vehicles still have a cigarette lighter and a power port, the power port is needed because some device chargers will not make a proper connection to a lighter socket.............
