Hello,
I apologize in advance for not looking as thorough as I should via search for this particular question. We took out our Bayliner 2070 Capri today for a maiden voyage (with out the kids) in order to see if we got a decent deal on it as I traded a truck for it this past winter. It fired up suprisingly well but only gets up to about 2600rpm's and is very boggy. At first I assumed it was bad gas as it had a half tank from the prev. season......
Although I did add stabil to the fuel as soon as it came into my possession. I ran it around for about 20 minutes and felt that it was too consistent and ran too smoothly for a fuel issue. Long story short is that I found the top two cylinders are not firing. I swapped plugs and even wires to no avail. I'm familiar with cars and know that some coil systems fire two cylinders at a time. Is this true with the 120 Force engines? Any ideas as to what to check? I'm handy with a meter so checking voltage and ohms isn't an issue. I have an online manual but figured I'd pick some brains first as I'm lazy. BTW it's the dreaded L-Drive too.... Thanks T
