Im thinking about buying a 1988 16 ft baja and it has a 120 force motor on it what will my speed be and how fast can it max out at with proper prop. all i need is a estimated guess, i used to have a 16 ft. bayliner capri with a 75 hp mercury and it went 35mph so im guessing more but how much more speed......:D

My 1996 17ft. astro bass boat has a 120 force and i get about 52mph on calm water and full 25gal. tank with all fishing gear. I have a stainless 19 prop and motor runs at 5600rpm at wide open. I usually run it at about 5000rpms at 47mph. This is gps measured.

I have a 1994 Maxum 16 footer with a Force 120. My top speed is 38 - 40 depending on load. I have never tried a prop made for top end.

"Force outboard" and "speed" probably shouldn't be in the same sentence. LOL I think you are talking about low 40's probably. There will be more educated folks chiming in but that is what I would guess.

My 90HP will push my 18' cuddy about 35-37mph in ideal conditions. In reality it is a 28-30mph boat at cruising speeds and that works for us.
