I have found the solution!!!! I have a 92 120 L Drive motor in a 21' Maxum. I have had problems with it bogging out at 2000 rpm since I bought it! So I took it to my mechanic, after putting $1100 in Ignition parts on it, and he started looking it over. Good Compression @140 on all 4, Excellent spark, so then he wondered about fuel! We took it to the local "creek" and backed it down in the water, still on the trailer. I fired it up and put it in gear and ran it up to about 2000 rpm and it bogged down like it was gonna die out. He goes back, while its still running at 2000 rpm, and takes off the little black Flash Cover from the top carb. He unhooked the Carb vent hose, liuttle vacuum line, from the top of the carb. The motor quickly ran up to about 3500 rpm and sounded just as smooth as can be!
So...the moral of this story is...if you have a L Drive motor that is bogging down in gear, even after changing filters, diaphrams, and check valves/primer bulbs, Check the carb vent tubes!!! It will save you money in the long run!! Mine was stopped up completely, not letting enough fuel through the carb to #1 & 2 cylinders!
After short test drive today, it ran like a Singer Sewing Machine!
Thanks to the guys that helped me out on here!
