120 sport jet fuel enrichner

do i have to run the fuel enrichner on my motor will run ok without it i ask cause i dont have the front air box i call it but the parts called an SOUND ATTENUATOR ASSEMBLY and do i have to have one these also if so im gonna have fun looking for one cause no one makes them anymore

The answer is yes. Yes you need the enrichner. Most people think of it as a choke and it sort of is but more importantly it shoots mixed fuel into the crankcase and gets the cylinders wet which helps prevent scoring. As for he Airbox, mine clearly states not to run the engine over 2500 rpm without it.

Search the threads herr for leads on old merc/mariner/force parts. Also check ebay and try http://www.crowleymarine.com you can at least get the part number there and then search that. I've had pretty good luck doing that.
