A beautiful boat is for sale (2007 Mako 195 DC) with a 2009 Suzuki 150sf with 1200 hours on it for $15,900. Does this look like a good deal or is it overpriced. I know that I should require a compression test I presume but would like to have opinions about the price and motor; where can I get the actual value of both. I am having trouble finding that model of Mako for 2007 to get a price value. Is this an extremely high number on the motor hours?

suzukis are ok..but i stick with, merc, omc, or yammy. 1200 hours is kinda high for a 2009 motor. but not out of the question, although I would talk him down on the price some. this boat has obviously seen a lot of use and probably is showing the wear.

Doesn't the e-tec say 3years without scheduled dealer maintenance or 300 hours?
If that is correct they are saying 100 hours a year is normal,
but you have 400 to 600 hrs a year depending when he bought the motor.

To get that # of hrs you would need to run it every weekend of each year for 8 to 11.5 hours
or each and every day of each year for about 1.1 to 1.6 hours.
Was this a guide boat? Not that many people run there boats that many hours each year, something to think about

Should do at least 3 or 4 hour water test, then check the oil for water or fuel. Look at service records were engine zincs ever changed? Computer printout will tell if engine ran hot, low oilpressure, high Rpms, and more. Read some of the threads about water in oil.

I currently service rental boat. They have 1300 hr and there 2011 motors. The Suzuki DF 150 is a good motor with no known problems. The price of the boat seems high. To be honest with you I would never buy a rental or guide boat due to the abuse
