Ran the boat onto an uncharted sandbar and filled it with sand. Replaced the impeller and cleaned out all the sand there. My plug seems to be up towards the engine, possibly between the thermostat and the pee holes.

If I put a hose to the pee holes it comes out the exhaust port by the propeller. With the thermostat off I get a little flow out (with motor running and muffs on, but even if I put the hose into the thermostat hole I get little/none out of the pee holes. Is there any way to clean that passageway out? Cant find anything in the manual, just a diagram.

thanks,
Mic

If you take off the exhaust port plate cover and the head gasket cover, you can access a lot of the passage ways and clean them out. I've done this and cleaned out bits of old impeller and some other trash. The Force Service Manual from Mercury shows how to do this. It isn't a really big job, but it takes a little time to work on all of the bolts and you will need to replace the gaskets and possibly the exhaust port plate itself.

I am having a similiar problem with little or no water flow and over heating. See my post called "1999 Force 120 overheating (18' Bayliner)" for all of the things I have had done and replies. Good luck.
