Hello,
My first post; read through many and i have to say thank you for this very helpful forum.
I am troubleshooting my 125 force and have practically narrowed it down one of the switch boxes.
My question is, based on model of 1251F6A and serial of 1002, does anybody know what year and model (A,B,C,D,E...?) it is so i can locate the correct part? My guess is 1986, A.
Engine starts right up and runs, but warms up and misses and runs very rough at any speed. 140 compression all 4; inspected all wires and ground; checked resistance on coils - seem good at .3 ohms. Top cylinder spark is just a constant dull glow using an inline spark tester (as opposed to the beautiful, blue flash on other 3). I pulled top wire off while running = no difference. Pulled top 2 wires off... still no difference even though second cylinder shows good spark. I swapped coils and spark problem does NOT follow coil - so I'm hoping it's the switch box for top 2 cylinders (and not the trigger).
I was thinking of swapping switch boxes just to be absolutely sure when problem moves down to bottom 2 cylinders.
Any suggestions are GREATLY apprecaited and again, thank you for a very informative forum.
