I can't find an answer so i'm going to ask what i'm sure has been asked before.

I am not getting any water flow from the pee holes with the ear muffs and the engine running.

I have replaced the complete water pump. I have tested the thermostat. I ran water from the thermostat port and it came out the snout.

I ran the engine long enough for the thermostat to open and am now concerned if i harmed the new water pump.

I need some help. The Seloc manual just is not that helpful.

Should I remove the lower unit and check the pump?

If the water passages are clogged is there any way to unclog them?

Thanks, Bill

you need some serious water pressure to get water to flow out of the 'pee holes' on muffs. Then depending on yr. of you motor, regular muffs may not work. Best bet is to get a tub/barrel and fill with water over the cavitation plate a few inches, then fire her up and see if you get water flow.

dont stand motor straight up when on a hose -mine wont pick up water unless i put the skeg on 4x4 or somthin and make sure prop wont hit 4x4

Those holes are for excess water.
Most exhaust and water comes out the snout.
You need a lot of hose pressure to use the muffs.
Try taping the muffs in place(dry, duct tape won't stick when wet)
Test the overheat buzzer? Make sure it's not overheating.
Key on,ground out the orange lead on the buss bar.
Should make the buzzer sound off.

On a hose, if you see good volume of water coming off the snout and a mist from the "nostrils" the impeller is working OK. You will see more if you submerged it up to the cavitation plate because now the exhaust nostrils will be pushing more exhaust since the snout is now under water.

Thank you all for the replys. I will try out your answers and post results after the weekend. Taking the grandkids to the beach. That's where the boat is supposed to be going.

Thanks again everyone. I had to go buy the biggest tote I could find at WM. Cost me 20 bucks but, it did the job. The water pumped and the head stayed cool. I still need to test the overheat alarm.

No need to ran the engine to test this unless you desire to do so. But by just grounding the orange wire it should sound the buzzer. Or you can remove the temp sensor and heat it up with hot water or hair dryer.
