I have a 125hp force that spit the bearings out of the #1cylinder, the cylinder was is scored good, is the a sleeve I can get put in it? I have not taken the engine apart yet to check the crank, should I even waste my time, I know a used power head is about eight hundred bucks and replacing the crank in this one is way up there if its trashed, any advice would be great.

Thanks for the advice

First thing to do is to pull the engine and check the crank. If it has damage on the crankpin, then it most likely will not be worth repairing the engine. There is a remanufacturer that sells cranks for around 400 plus your core. There is a very old post with the address.

If the cylinder is not scored deeper than .015, then a .030 overbore will clean it up. Deeper than that and you need to re-sleeve. WISECO sells sleeves for about 50 bucks but then you need to get a special shop to insert it and cut the ports--probably 300 or so in labor.

Then on top of everything, it is almost a certainty that the big end of the rod is spalled and useless, requiring replacement. Used is the way to go here.

If the rod and crank are bad or if you need to have the engine sleeved, then you would be better off looking for a used engine.
