My 125 was never running really well and finally went to 2 cylinders so I've been working on her today.

Thanks to another member I have a spare coil and spare CD box but I also found some wires rubbed bare under the flywheel.

I had already rebuilt the carb and the fuel pump.

So today I pulled the flywheel to check the stator and trigger and magnets etc - apart from the rubbed bare wires everything seemed in great condition so I reassembled it all. One thing I wasn't sure of was which connector went to which connector so a bit of trial and error, some backfiring and some no firing and I ended up with a nicely running engine. Tested the coils and CD packs and they all seem to be healthy.

However, whilst reassembling I pulled on of the spark plug wires by accident and it just popped out of the boot - that made me start thinking and checking the others and number 2 cylinder was the same - the wire just came out of the boot.

Now I'm wondering whether that might have been at least part of my problem all along and the next question is whether aftermarket spark plug boots are available that can be attached to the wires?

If you have a poorly running Chrysler it might be worth checking yours.
