12Footer

Have not been on the board for a while. Just went back and read the message where you went fishing and did not catch a keeper. But had a nice keeper finding the two outboards. I would like to been in the bushes when that guy was so mad that he unhooked them and kicked them off the back of the boat. Do you suppose it was the same guy that owned both motors? Or did you find a Force cemetary.
Oh a little trick to catching bass when they are not bitting. I have been fishing tournaments for 10 years. I have seen many of the same things that you experenced the other day. Remember that bass have two kinds of strikes, a feeding strike or a reaction strike. In our terms a feeding strick is when they are hungry. If you and I eat a big turkey dinner and are full, Than a big prime rib does not look so good.
Maybe a small piece of cake will do the trick though. So in other words down size your bait.
A reaction strike it like a cat playing with a ball of yarn. Most of the time when you put the yarn in front of that cat he will swing at it. So than you need to find a lure that will **** them off. Top water or a buzz bait or spinnerbait is pretty good for this. Oh by the way, when they are on there beds, use a lizard, they hate lizards, they will try to kill it to defend there bed.

So after all the years that I have fished I haved narrowed this sport down to the same three things in life that we like.
EATING, PLAYING AND SOMETIMES PROTECTING WHAT IS OURS

Tight lines
markcv
