I hope this is an easy answer...Replaced spark plugs and fuel lines, finally got the 12hp Buc fired up, seemed to run fine. I noticed water draining out the bottom backside of the engine cover...there are 3 holes back there, looked like water coming from the bottom of the head, and draing through the holes, I hope this is by design...??? Any help will be appreciated-Thanks

Well the drain holes are by design...to drain off any water that finds its way in there by rain or sea. But the head should NOT be leaking water.

Everybody these days wants to watch their motor pee. The water circulation indicator on your motor is the thumb-szed hole about half way down the backside

ouch, I was afraid of that, darn, runs so good too. I'll have to see if I can tell if it's the gasket, a crack or maybe a soft plug...? Thanks for the info.

Probably is the 202310 core plug on the bottom of the head. Don't remove the head unless you have to, you may have trouble finding a gasket, 552181. You can access the core plug by removing the lower rear cowling/pan.

Well I finally got around to removing the pan. That plug was partially pushed outward, I tapped it back in. I put it in the barrel and started it up. No leaks, so I put it in gear and openned 'er up. It ran good until I heard a horrible clunking, and then an object cleared the water like a rainbow trout...When I got her shut down, I reached in and pulled out, yep there's that craftsman screwdriver I was looking for the other day, ohh, I knew I'd find it sooner or later, (just a little bent now). I slowly pulled the motor out of the barrel and, yeah, it's a 2 blade prop now...probly pick up a prop for a '57 Buccaneer 12hp, just about anywhere huh?
