13 spines on a Merc prop?

My 71 Merc 500 has 13 spines and a 10-3/4" x 12 pitch prop.

I've noticed lots 13 spline Merc props on ebay that are much newer. Would the hub of most any 13 spline Merc prop fit my 13 spline prop shaft? Or are there varying diameters of Merc shafts with 13 splines?

In other words can I get any Merc prop of the same diameter and pitch as long as it has 13 splines?

Yup. It's still a current prop for motors still being made. But some use different hardware. They still fit the shaft, you just need matching hardware. I'm aware of only two versions of hardware. Older versions have a thrust washer that fits into the prop and a splined spacer under the nut. Newer versions have a thrust washer that fits against the prop with no splined spacer.
