I have a pair of 1989 130 hp Yamahas. if I let them sit for a long period (several weeks) they are almost impossible to start. I have to use starting fluid (I know this is not good)or I will run the batteries down. once started they run fine, you can turn them off and they will restart the instant the starter starts to turn. the choke flaps are closing. <br />all is good unless they sit for a while. any sugestions?

Bulbs in fuel lines may be bad causing the fuel to leak down. A spray bottle with gas is a much safer primer than starting fluid. Fuel pumps may be leaking. Plugs may also need replacing. A good basic service of the engines and fuel system may be in order.
