1976 135 evinrude compression 125-126-124-125 starts & idles on hose but its boggin bad with lots of fuel in lower cowl looks like some of the fuel is coming from the small hose at bottom of carbs from block, I took carbs off twice checked floats needle&seats clean as can be, all plugs have nice blue fire, reeds look good, put a new power pack from a 115 on it same thing still boggin its even worse when you put in the water with back pressure, this engine came off of a 23'skiff bait boat that idled several hours a week? I decarbed it one week before lower unit went which i have changed and it ran very good,I don't know what else to do :( Please Help! Thanks Billy

I guess I'd go back into those carbs. Check to see if the floats actually float. Make sure the float levels are set correctly.

WillyBWright after cleaning and checking float levels - sync & link again it fired up and runs great under load & idle in the water, must have been missing something in the carbs? thanks Billy

you should not have fuel leaking into the lower cowl pan. Check your hoses and connections. Are the little block vent tubes hooked up?

What gear ratio lower unit did you put on it? Is it the same?
