One mechanic said early 1970s. No transom tag and the powerhead core plug has been replaced. Block is repainted blue over what appears to be a medium green. I suspect it's a 1973-1976, mainly cause it's on a 1969 hull and has two mechanical control cables attached to motor. Anybody know any part numbers or part setups that are year peculiar so that I can narrow it down to a specific year? Thanks for your help.

John

Has to be between 1973-75 if it's a 135.

If it's a 1973, the motor cover has its side and front emblems as separate pieces attached to the cover.

If it's a '74, the Johnson name will be on the top third of the side of the case. I can't tell if it's a vinyl sticker or a decal. The seahorse logo is above the name at the right of the name.

On the '75, The Johnson name is almost centered on the side of the cover and the seahorse logo is in front of the name.

I hope you can still discern the names and logos on the cover, since it will be almost impossible to tell the 74 and 75 covers apart.

That said, most of the other parts on the engines are the same from year to year.

Great!! It's a '73 then--separate pieces for everything on the motor cover. Thank you so much for your help. Now to buy manuals.

John

1973 has a different set up on the piston to wrist pin as well. Dimension of wrist pin to bottom of skirt.
