First, thanks for the advice here guys on helping me make this selection. It's an Aquamarine 430 with an aluminum floor. The 30hp moves its along great even with a load. Here is a quick review for you other shoppers.

The good: Size, 6 1/2 foot beam is very stable, the oars work fine (I read they were too short) and have a beefy pin on the oar lock (bought a spare anyway). The foot pump (again I read was crappy, seems fine, I bought a Bravo 9 just in case). And of course the price, best deal going in Canada on lower end of the price spectrum that I found.

The bad: The fit and finish is nothing fancy don't expect it to be perfect (its not bad but not perfect like my Walker Bay). I would prefer a larger handle up front to haul it around with on beaching wheels (my preference). It's heavy, but so are all boats this size. No real complaints.

So far I am happy, the seams look good and it fits my family of 4 with room to spare. You guys were right about not needing the 16'. Hoping to load it right up tomorrow people wise and see how it performs.

My trailer set up. I'll get a better shot tomorrow hopefully. Basically just a flat deck with low fenders. It has to haul my quad and my sled too. The transom rests flat on the back and the tubes lightly sit on the fenders depending on how much the keel is pumped up. I use a 2" wide retractable strap (10 foot) that they sell now with seat belt style webbing across the front. I'm going to get another for the back to make myself feel better. Then I use 2 more straps, one from each side of the motor to the outsides to lock in place. I have a winch too but I ran out of argon for my welder before I could attach it. I might add a bolt on pvc roller at the back too for low water days.

Re: 14' Aquamarine

I just need a set of launch wheels for it. I looked at the Chinese ones and they seemed a little light duty. I made a beefy aluminum set for my walker bay but don't like the way they get in the way of the rod holders or hanging over the back putting the pins in and out. Then I found these ones on the net. Very interesting, all the way from New Zealand

neat - I have the same rig....
sold my 30 YAM though....so the boat has been hanging from the ceiling of my garage for a few years now... :)
Hoping next summer it will emerge.

Those are cool launch wheels.
