Hello,
I bought a 14' Cadorette boat from my father in law last summer. It works good for 2 of us to go out fishing, but it needs the floor replaced.

As you can see in the pictures, somewhere it's life, it was modified to have seats instead of benches. What I was thinking of doing it rebuild the rear bench and put a pedistal seat in the middle, then rebuild the middle bench and put 1 seat a bit off center instead of 2 seats. Then I would build a console so that you can drive the boat from that seat. Then I would take the front bench and make a platform at that height and put a seat up there for a total of 3 seats.

Any suggestions/comments?

Thanks,

Re: 14' Cadorette Rebuild

I was looking at singinout's thread about his trihull which gave me some great ideas.
I know the boat I have it not the most stable due to it's size, but I'm hoping that putting a seat up at the front is not going to make it to tippy.

I'm hoping I can get everying done by the end of may which is when fishing season opens. I just have to wait till the snow melts so that I can get it into the garage.

i kinda like the lowridin look, good luck w/ the rebuild, thats the beauty of the whole thing, rebuild to suit you, as long as you keep a few saftey related thoughts in the mix, take your time and do it once, personally id lose the carpet, floor will last longer. dont like carpet in boats for that reason unless it snaps in place, my opinion.
again good luck, D

I will definetly be getting rid of the current carpet. Once I have it all fixed up how I want, I will put some new grey marine carpet in.

This will be the first time I've ever worked on a boat, so I hope everything goes well. I can't wait to get started.
