As noted in my previous posts, I've gotten the deck out. Plywood was shot, foam was soaked. Stringers were amazingly unscathed. Teak? This boat will spend VERY little time in the water. An OLD 40 HP pushing it (I hope)
Anyway I got to looking at the transom. it has a piece of 1/4" Aluminum plate on both faces and across the top. goes almost the full width and 2/3 the way down. Was this the way it was built? Strong, but it's almost completely sealed. No way for it to dry out once it gets wet (and it does, of course).
I've checked it out. It's plywood and in good shape all around the edges. It doesn't flex, have soft spots, or have any "hollow" sounds. Between the plates, it is "intact" but quite wet.
What, if anything, do I need to do.
