14 hp evinrude hard to start after being tilt'd

when ever i tilt up my motor, on my 14 foot jon boat, such as beachin near an island or whatever, so the motor doeasnt hit bottom, its reall hard to start after wards, like it takes 45-60 seconds, but if i leave it down, it onlt takes 1 or 2 pulls? and please dont say"well just dont tilt it" i wanna know why this is happening... thanks in adavance, its almost as if it were flooded?! but im no master mechanic...

Try this next time if you haven't already.After tilting down to restart,squeeze the primer bulb to be sure the carb bowl is full.It may be draining out when you tilt it up.<br />DHPMARINE
