About 3 years ago I bought a Lowe Superior V with trailer and trolling motor for about $800.
I knew it was going to need some work but that was a good thing as I wanted to have a project that would take my mind off work and just let me relax on the weekends.

Between the fires that chased us out of Fort McMurray Alberta, and work still having some weekend control, I finally got to work on it.

I have been reading Dabbler_E's post on his restoration of the same boat with interest. Not sure if I will go so elaborate as his but looking forward to an end result. Will post pictures following this. I have already done some work and will have to dig up what pictures I have to show the progress completed.

Striped down the paint in and out and then started the repaint.

I have a buddy who has been in the paint industry for 30+ years and he gave me some help.
He told me if it was not going to be a salt water boat I could just go with Tremclad, His company makes this brand.
He said give it a good cleaning and then a wash with vinegar and I should be good to go. So far as I can see it went on well and seems pretty well stuck on.
The lake test will be the final trial I guess.
I used the same idea on an old car I hand painted. It was just a going to work car so looking classy was not a worry. It went on well and I went to the guys house I sold it to last summer and it is still on and looking good. Not a spot of rust on it. I painted it 20 years ago.:)
