I have a 14' sea nyphm jon boat with a 25 hp tiller. Been thinking about going up to a 35 or 40 console steer. Not sure about the rating of the boat as far as hp is concerned though. The main reason for looking at bigger motor is that it does great as long as i'm by myself. If i add a passenger the boat just dont plane out completely. any suggestions

That 25 tiller should run like a raped ape with a 14 footer sea nypmph.
In fact I run a 25 merc tiller on on 16 ft sea nypmph semi V.
Better check the motor?
I run my set up with three people and 50/75 decoys, duckhunting on SAGINAY BAY. do not hve problem planning out. ???

Well, thats what i thought to. Well i already got to put a new flywheel key in the motor and reset the points. Hopefully i get to put this boat kinda on the back burner for now when i get the 1968 seacraft. Thanks for the idea, I will probarly have it checked by someone( the 25 hp ) that is

I have a 14 FM model, about 1992 (narrow beam model). It runs as fast as I want with a 25 Evinrude. Check the prop you have on yours-it may be the wrong pitch or diameter for your boat. Don't get a bigger engine until you check the 25 out.

Mine is my favorite boat for freshwater fishing. Just right for one man to handle and great for two.

I need new wiring for mine. The winter mice have done a job! Anyone know where I can a new harness including the three switch plate that goes on the Starboard side? It says "Sea Nymph" on the top and has three switches vertically: Lights, Aerator, Bilge.. My Lights work, but the Aerator and Bilge pumps do not. It may be time to completely rewire.

You may have to experiment with your trim setting to lift the bow if it is plowing the water.I have a 14'6" Grumman with a 25hp merc tiller that will do 30mph and planes quickly with two people and gear aboard.
