This was a winter project, I was looking for a hull and this was given to me from a neighbor. I also was given the motor from another freind who was clearing out old stuff. I did all the work on the boat I am into it for about $1,000 to $1,200 in goods. I work in a cabinet shop so wood is cheap and indoor storag and work area in the winter makes it easier to complete tasks as you need to. The exterior and interior is car enamel and very durable. The deck combing is grey Rhino Liner, the console is Sapele all wood is finished with Minwax Helmsman Gloss Spar Urethane. I have had her in the water for 3 years and have only had to do minor up keep. This year I sanded and re varnished the floor (teak and holly). I get a lot of comments on this boat and I am currently looking for a 16-18 footer low cost is a must as long as the hull is sound I am good. Ask questions if you like.

I'm impressed, very nice work:)

What kind of speeds do you get on the top end? Looks like a very fun boat.

Why do I all of a sudden want a CC instead of a Side Console?

I dunno...

Maybe cause your boat is AWESOME!!!

Nice work and welcome!

Classy is right. I love the look of finished wood. Compared to this, I'm just slummin'.

As long as you catch fish like that you don't need another boat. LOL

Howza, I am just starting a restoration on a 76 16' kingfisher. I would love to see some of your photo's. Did you do a full restoration? I would really like to go with the CC like you did. Hope to hear from you.

Treveordog, start a thread of your own. That way we can all comment and help you out. I don't think Howza is around anymore, he hsn't been to Iboats in at least 3 months. and only had a few posts.

If you start your own thread and post pictures you can gain entry into the coveted Starmada. You'll get a lot more responses too. Looking forward to seeing the Kingfisher.

Re: 14' Starcraft Kingfisher Restoration

Bwana Don.....I think I just may start up a thread for the project. I am committed to getting it done, and sure could use the help by way of questions answered. Not sure I can
hold a candle to some of the projects I have seen here though. I will work on getting the thread started soon. Three little ones and work sure does get in the way, so don't be
surprised if it isn't until spring time when she's, or should I say he (BOB) is done.

Couldn't help notice in your sig your shout out to Autism. I have a three your old son with Autism. He is my inspiration to getting this project done. I know in my heart we will be fishing together in no time. Thanks for your support to fighting Autism

Re: 14' Starcraft Kingfisher Restoration

Working on boats is helpful to my autistic son and myself. It's something we can both share and love, along with fishing. I'm sure it will be therapeautic to your family as well.

Time lines and self imposed deadlines kinda suck. Who needs that kind of pressure, it's supposed to be fun. Take your time and ask the groups advice. You'll get it done a liitle at a time. We'll still be here for you. I view this forum like I do cubscouts, do what you can, when you can, no pressure. Enoy your boat and your children, and that's from my heart.

I hope you stick around, Kingfisher's are very neat boats.
