I have a 140 looper that I am having a backfire problem with. I have fiddled with the dwell but have not solved the problem. At idle the motor backfires a lot and a majority of the time it backfires in such close succession it dies. I also need to get it idled down. It idles at between 1000-1100. The butterflies are all the way closed and the stator stop screw on the port side of the motor has been adjusted. I need to know how to adjust the idle down and get this backfiring stoped. The motor tuns great with throttle applied. Any help would be appreciated.
