140 johnson power pack wiring help

NEED A LITTLE HELP ! Turned out the idle problem with this engine Jojnson -J140TLCUA bad orange wire going up into the power pack feeding starboard side coils . BUT while changing out power pack I broke anphenol conector pins the male ones cumming from under flywheel on the starboard side. The wires cumming from under flywheel are brown with white stripe and brown with black stripe. These dont match color coded wires on the new power pack the wires on the power pack are brown with yellow stripe and just solid brown. DOES ANYBODY know the correct way rewire the new male side anphenol connector? I cant find anything real clear in my manual .ANY INPUT from the PROS would be great THANK YOU

All of my 140HP reference diagrams show solid brown and brown w/yellow on both sides of the amphenol. That's the way my 1988 140 is wired as well.

THANKS for the reply. ALL of my manuals show the same. The only thing I could of think of is that the unit under the fly wheel has been replaced with an aftermarket, thats why the wires aren't matching. If I'm looking at it correctly, these 2 wires feed AC voltage to the power pack.(Don't know if I'm correct) Is there any way to check the polarity of these wires without running the engine and plugging in the new power pack unit and just guessing. This is a brand new power pack and I would hate to ruin it, by hooking up the polarity wrong. Thanks for the input if any would be great.

Do you have a special setup, like power steering or a 35 amp charger?

Do you know if anyone worked on the stator?

NO ezeke I dont have power steering And I belive engine has 10 amp charger nothing special cant talk to the prevoius owner he has passed away 6 yrs ago that is when bought it from his wife. I tryed to get it in shops but all are 4-6 weeks out on service

I am not sure of the meaning of this, but I did find that the stator for a 1994 up 85 and 115 V4 had the [A] brown and black and brown and white wires on the two wire amphenol. That connected to the powerpack with [A] brown and brown and yellow.

Stator was [Edit] 583536 and was 3/9 amp.

I ran that part number and found that it was used on numerous V4 crossflow motors from around 1988 up.

Thanks ezeke for the reply. I hooked it up with the brown wire black stripe to the power pack side, brown wire yellow stripe. Fired up the engine, runs like a top. Thanks once again.
