140hp 1984/85 Evinrude after 1 1/2 Hour

4 cylinder stops running,sound like no gas first it runs and stops and runs and stops like a sirene goes up and down ?<br />does this one has a fuelpump I changed the fuelfilter and pressed when it happened the rubberpump its sometimes hard sometimes soft and <br />Next day with full tank it runs 1 1/2 hour very smooth and good untill <br />What is to do?

Does it die completely? Or just a loss of power. Do the usual: check the plugs, check for spark. Check to see for proper gas/oil mixture. The hand pump on the hose will not always be hard, but you should feel some gas in it. Good luck!

it dies completly and sometimes is just loses a lot of power!<br />But why AFTER 1 1/2 hours when everythink runs good before ?<br />Is it possible to put ATF leak stopper in for a minor leak in the tilt & trim ??<br />does this have a fuelpump ??

Yes it has a diaphram type fuel pump. As was said above. When the problem starts..Start pumping the fuel bulb at the tank. If the problem goes away. It time to do the fuel pump.

thanks guys what I dont understant is why it runs for a certain time<br />anybody has a wiring diagram for the tach ??
