So I was pulling my lower unit off to put a new water pump on well this lower unit hasn't been taken off in more than 20 years it was rusted solid together but I got it broke apart and when I messed up was I didn't take the gear rod pin out before I finally broken free in a dropped now the little l piece at the end of the shift rod that actually selects for neutral reverse has now come up out of the shift assembly so I don't know if I broke the PIN I hold it in and it is replaceable but I can't get to it because of the front of the pilot bearing for the propeller shaft does not have 5/16 holes to attach a pull or two now I don't know how to get this pilot bearing out without destroying it because the walls in between are too thin to try to drill a tap do I put a slide here on it and heat it up after I take the four bolts out that's holding the actual housing in what do I do please help greatly appreciated friends
