This post is completely unreadable. And how many of these "random model #" versus "other random model #" threads are you going to post? No one knows what these boats are except you because you're shopping for them.

I'm confused! BUT...usually you get what you pay for.In that case i would buy the wider boat with the thicker aluminum hull.....:)
500 bucks when it comes to boating is pocket change...

I Don't Know How It Is Unreadable I Have No Problem With It.1442 Is A Alumacraft 1436 Is A Lowe And 1542 Is A Tracker Why Does It Matter What Brand It Is Or Color Or Anything Else I Gave The Specs And Wanted To Hear Opinions.all The Other Posts Were Deals I Had Going On And Thet Backed Out So I'm Back To Square One.i Just Want To Know What The Best Deal For The Money Is It's Very Simple Any Help I Will Take It If Not Ok No Problem I Wrote The Bottom Widths, top Widths, how Thick The Aluminum Was On Each Boat, how High The Sides Were, the Total Weight For The Boat, and The Price.so What Is The Issue Of Not Understanding What I Wrote.

it is barely readable Because You Capitalize Every Word And That Makes Punctuation (Or The Lack Of It) Impossible To Understand. You Also Did Not Mention What Manufacturer . Did you graduate from High School ? Because your grasp of written english is lacking....

Here is the post after being run through the Gibberish to English translator:

I just can't see spending an extra $550 for a 1442 hull rather than a 1436 hull. I have compared the pros and cons of both hulls and have found that the performance difference is not comparable to the price difference. I have owned a 1236 hull and did not notice the instability problems others mention in the forums. Is the performance difference in the hulls worth the price difference? Here is the comparison of the specs:
1436 Hull:
36 inch bottom, 57 inch beam, 18 inch sides, 0.58 inch aluminum, 740 lbs capacity, cost is 850$

1442 Hull:
42 inch bottom, 60 inch beam, 20 inch sides, 0.63 gauge aluminum , 675 lbs capacity, cost is $1480

1542 Tracker Hull:
42 inch bottom, 61 inch beam, 18 inch sides, 0.63 gauge aluminum, 775 lbs capacity, cost is $999

The program crashed after that....

Bwhahaha. But to the OP, if you want to have your questions answered reasonably, work on your english dude. As far as selection of your boat, it sounds like you don't think the 36" bottom will be a problem, so if you're tight on money, go with that one.

Boate1234-

Are you posting via a cell phone type thingy??? I get stuff sent to my e-mail from text messages, and are difficult to understand. English has a certain, shall we say, aesthetic when read.

When one uses an electronic interface to communicate that does not understand the nuances of the language, things get hard to communicate, which has also led to the development of emoticons such as these;):rolleyes::cool::D:eek: so as to be understood in the correct context.

You don't say what you want to do with the boat or what type of water you'll be using it on.

I take it the prices you listed are for new boats. You can pick up used jon boats a lot cheaper.

I have looked and the used market is almost as expensive as new these days and if i find one it's usually junk anyway.

Re: 1436 Or 1442

Boater,
I owned a 14' 36" bottom boat before. If it was me I would go with the Tracker 1542. That extra foot in length will be handy and the extra capacity will be nice for more folks to come with you. If you are not deadset on a aluminum hull, look at a skiff like a Carolina Skiff. The price for the bare hulls is very close to the price of the aluminum boats you are listing. They are also wider and more stable.

Again, you still haven't told us how you will use the boat. E.g. cartopping or trailering.

Re: 1436 Or 1442

Read his original post on a similar question. He wanted to overpower a 12ft jon and then over load it with him and his brother (both of whom weigh 270 pounds ea.)

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=372634

Boater...

Don't open multiple posts on the same question.

Do the math, you are still overloaded on the 1436. You really need to go with the 1442 or practice swimming or practice holding your breath or find a lighter fishing partner. The 1436 will be overloaded. It is rated for 605 pounds. You and your brother weight 540. In the other post, you have said you want a motor on it. You will be overloaded!

Quoted from the other post...

Even the 1436 is rated for at most 625 pounds. That is still overloaded (although a lot closer). Look at a 1442 if you really want to be safe.

Before you buy a Tracker you better do a search about Tracker welds.
I did and went with a Lund.

Re: 1436 Or 1442

With regards to the ops question, without seeing the data cards for the boats I was initially saying the 1442. It has the highest sides so the most freeboard, good beam-which really helps make a boat feel bigger. It sounded good, but i think its the most expensive-I didn't do well with keeping the numbers straight.

Although all 3 seem expensive for tinnys, and don't overload whatever you happen to get.

To the op-the initial post was nearly unintelligible, and your defense of it was outrageous; of course it makes sense to you-we can only hope you wouldn't post it if it didn't. I have posted stuff that was difficult to understand before; someone said it was so i clarified it.

So, break up your stuff into mini paragraphs; it makes it easier to read. Punctuation is great, even when not grammatically correct, it does wonders. And capitalization, well use some moderation; actually a lot of moderation.

edited for spelling/grammer. doh
