14inx19 pitch v 14.5inx19pitch

i have a 85 20ft sportcraft,i put a new mercruiser 3.0l in last year,the problem is with the rpm. i currently run 14.5x19 prop, wot is 4100rpm.would a 14x19 prop bring up my rpm. the wot range should be 4400-4800.thanks for any help brian

That little change in diameter will not make much difference. However, I assume the props are from different manufacturers which may make a difference -- but not necessarily to your advantage. When comparing prop pitches a 19 from vendor "A" may not perform exactly like a 19 from vendor "B". Work with your prop shop or a local dealer. They often allow trial of several props before buying. Just be a sport and buy from them. That's a fair sized load for the 3.0 so you might be better off all around with a 17P which would put you in the 4500 - 4600 range.

Is your boat running properly? Those rpm's look a little low for that motor/prop combo.

Props tend to be trial and error depending on manufacturer. Do your best to try before you buy as stated above.
