I put a 6oz layer of cloth on my transom then put it in place use peanut butter around the corners then used 6oz cloth to tab it in I put 2 more layers of tabbing but this time I used 12 oz biaxial cloth with each layer going 2” past the last one. Is this enough? Is the more important thing the tabbing rather than covering the transom? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m itching to put the stringers in. The transom is 2 3/4” sheets of marine grade plywood epoxied together. I’m using west system epoxy and I have an outboard 85 Johnson that weighs about 300lbs

I'd recommend using 17 oz fabric for the final tabs and extend them a minimum of 10 " on to the sides and bottom of the hull. The Tabs ARE the Strength of the install. The rest is basicall water sealing
