15 horse sea king

I have a old 15 hs sea king sold by montgomery wards I just bought. is there anywhere I can buy a new or rebuilt carberator for this motor...I also need to repair or replace the pull rope assy????

Need the model number so we can determine who built it, Paul. Then we can compare it to other engines by that same builder.

If it's a Gale Sea King, probably just need to pull, soak and clean the carb. Same with the recoil, pull it and lube it. If the spring is broken, you find them pretty cheap on the auction site. Love to plug the Gale Sea Kings, great motors.

If your model number starts with "GG" it is a Gale-built motor.

If it starts with VWB it is a Chrysler product and a Mercury dealer would be the OEM supplier.

If your outboard is like mine there is a plastic sleeve on the bottom of the recoil unit assembly. Remove it and throw it away.
I had to remove the flywheel in order to bolt the recoil unit back on.
