First post! I am outfitting a small trihull (after 12 years in storage) for a HP restricted lake. I found a 2005 Johnson 15 hp elec start/remote steer over the phone today - the dealer told me I would need to replace my 1970ish side mount control station and shift /throttle cables in order to run this 2005 motor - which makes sense. I forgot to ask the dealer about the electric start option on the 15 hp motor, so here's the question I need help with:
Can a motor this small be started off of a key/ignition switch on the new control station I need to buy? or do you use a pushbutton on the engine cowling to do the 'electric start'?
