I have a 15 hp gamefisher, don't know how old it is. Mod#225581504, ser.# 16008. have ownedhis motor about 5yrs. This yr took the boat out ran great, 3rd time out, fired the motor up went about half a mile across the lake (motor running great) looking for a drop off, idled motor down, motor sputtered and died. After getting motor started again can only get about half throttle out of motor under load. Will rev up good in nuetral, runs fair in a barrel, but when you try to push the boat, it feals like that you are tied off to the dock. If you (at idle in the barrel)you take the top plug wiire the motor dies, put back on and take off the bottom one motor still runs. So i pulled the fly wheel swapped the coils and wires and the problem swapped cylinders. Sounds like i have a bad coil. Any suggestions on where I might find one at. I've been told that this is a Force Motor.

Re: 15 HP Gamefisher

Your gamefisher is a 1991 model. If you punch the model number in at searspartsdirect.com you can get parts listings. The part number for the coils is 712475. They are no longer available. I believe there is a company that makes aftermarket versions but I've heard they are expensive. The site is www.cdielectronics.com. I haven't talked to anybody that has tried these but it might be worth a try. Good luck.

If you do find it for that price please post back and let us know where. Some websites and dealers will quote a price for a part and then once you actually order it from them they email you back a week later saying that they can't get the part after all.
