i want to rebuild the engine on my old johnson. one of the piston rings blew and scuffed up the inside of one of my cylinders. before it blew compression was 110 on each cylinder. now it is 110 and 85 on the blown one. i dont know how to do this any advice will help me out greatly. thanks for the help.

Two Words wtf......"Service Manual".....OEM preferred....OK so that's four words....

Get one and read it. It'll take you through the process of rebuild and what to do and look for. A parts manual would be of great value also.

Search up Ken Cook Co. They sell the reprints of the manuals and sell on line. Have your model number handy.
