15 hp johnson no fuel from pump

hi 1977 15 hp seahorse cant figure out why no fuel to carb runs fine untill gas is ran out of carb if i pump gas bulb it picks up and keeps running has long has i pump bulb it will not die ..old fuel pump gas kit was hard in spots so i replaced fuel pump put with a kit .. rebuilt carb i took line off fuel bowel while running no gas out line ..compression was around 45 to 50 on both cyclenders any help i sure could use it thanks

Make sure that the gasket behind the fuel pump is air tight and in good condition.

the fuel pump gasket was backwards and runs fine thanks for the web site it help and thanks for the reply

I hope that compression reading was an error.
