15 hp johnson no I.D. Tag to tell me the year

I have this 15 hp johnson and i don't know the year. No I.D.tag and I have looked every where , all around the outside of the motor. ! think that its about a 1980, and thats a guess. I know mits all white an could anyone tell me what year they where white? I'm strating tgo think i'm snake bit! old man needs help?

They were white a long time. Look on top of the power head , there should be a silver welsh plug about the size of a quarter, you should find the model number stamped there also.
