I have a 9'6" Baltik that's rated for 10 hp. Would a 15 hp be ok in this boat? If so, I've got a smokin' deal on a 15hp. Thanks....Sid

I'm not recommending it, but if it's the right shaft length, I'd put it on there.

I have a 9' Achilles that I run a 15 on and by myself the 15hp motor is almost to much. I just don't run full throttle. The weight of both motors is identical so buy it before someone else does.

Well I got the motor and put it on the boat. It took a few runs to get the trim position dialed in. It's fast.lol. The only thing I would change if I could would be, when I roll on the throttle the bow rises alot and very quick. At the trim I have it now it still comes up about 18 inches. I think if I didn't slide forward during this transition I could flip the boat. Is this possible? Second thing is, at WOT there is a lot of spray that hits the underside of the motor. Not sure what to do about that. It's not getting in the motor. All in all I'm glad I did it and with two people it should still scoot right along...

It is perfectly normal for an inflatable to lift a whole lot when going on plane .... you will always have to move forward ..... and yes it can flip over if you do that against the wind .... hahahaha the motor will only spra if your engine height is not 100% correct .... the cav-plate must be in line with the lowest point of the hull ......

It's a Johnson with a short shaft. I'll have to measure it, but it should be somewhere between 15 and 18 inches I would think.

Some sibs are very prone to water splashing in transom area, it's incredible what a -1" ideal transom height can contribute to. With a metric tape measure excatly what stated. 15 to 18" is a very vague answer and will not contribute to solve your sib problem.
