I will start this with I know I need more info but I dont have it so I am hoping those on here with experience can jog their memories. I have a 1985 Bayliner with a 125 Force. I just got it back from the shop and while I was their I asked them if they knew what size my prop was. Without taking off the prop they guesstimated a 15 pitch based on the fact that the only lettering visible was "15 C" stamped on the exterior. I can tell you all it is black and has three blades along with "15 C" stamped into it. My question is does this sound like a good guesstimate on their part and since I primarily use the boat for watersports am I OK to use this quesstionable 15 pitch prop, or is it too small? Thank you in advance, and sorry for the complete lack of information.

Re: 15 pitch prop?

I have seen some props with the pitch stamped on the exterior where you could read it without taking the prop off.

Answer to your question is WOT rpm's. If your Force is rated for like 5000 to 5500 at WOT and with your normal load you run somewhere betweeny 5400 to 5600 you are there baby. If not, about 200 rpm per inch up or down. More pitch, less rpm, and vice versa.

Mark
