let me start with fact that mechanically ill have no problem doing any and all modifications needed to complete the conversion .
the hull im looking to buy has no power, the jet tunnel has been closed up and it will float and operate with a 9.9 hp motor.
the owner told me the upper "transom" didn't have any wood to support the outboard... this worried me b/c he has been using it all summer this way..
my plan is to fill the transom with wood and resin/glass and add a setback jackplate bracket to hold a 25-50 hp motor.
I have the choice of using a 04 suzuki 25hp 4 stroke tiller/ 89 30 hp omc tiller, or a 48 hp spl omc (remote). at a later date if the transom holds up well ill up the hp to 60 hp twin omc or maybe even a 3cyl omc 70 - 75 hp.
please don't try to say i cant convert a jet hull to outboard. My experience is far superior to a run of the mill shade tree mechanic. if there are any handling issues ill address them. Ill also be exploring the idea of adding a large pad for extream shallow water running.
