Hi,has any one had a similar problem with 1997 150 ocean pro. When you put it in gear and give it some throttle the cam follower roller seems to get stuck in the step that the cam has.You have to tap the throttle to get past the little step.It can be pretty dangerous if some one isnt hanging on and the motor launches out of the hole. Its not the cables, definitetly that step is the problem.I have wrapped a bit of tape around the roller and that made it abit better.Any ideas?

Is the sleeve missing off the roller?
If you go to www.evinrude.com and look up your model numebr there will be exploded diagrams showing the part. They tend to crack and split, then fall into the engine pan.

Yeah mate the sleeve is missing at closer inspection.Looks like the previous owner has replaced it with a black piece of hard plastic.Couldnt tell the difference until i had a good look.Maybe a new original sleeve will fix the problem.
