so, i have a 2000 mercury 150 efi that's having a cooling problem. i ran the boat the other day and noticed it wasn't peeing, so i felt the top of the starboard powerhead and it was VERY hot. shut the engine down, ran it on the direct hose at the ramp and it ran fine. i figured it was a bad water pump so i changed that out this morning. got inside and found the impeller was in quite good shape, still soft and no gouges or the like. replaced it anyway along with pump housing and gaskets. also replaced the thermostats which had been dug out and effectively, removed. so, ran the motor with the new thermostats and water pump on the direct hose in(no muffs) and it's STILL not peeing. i have also tried to blow out the pee hole with compressed air as well as thick fishing line. ran the motor for a few minutes to give the thermostats a chance to open up, but still no pee. just a very hot starboard powerhead, once again. now, before i changed out these parts, the motor would pee when not even running, but not now. can anybody help me figure this one out? is there something funny with this motor or is it me?
thanks
