Purple wire has +12VDC on it, when ign key is in run position. It is necessary to run the low oil and no oil alarms, if your motor has these. You need to unplug the harnesses on the oil tank and VRO/OMS pump, to disable these alarms, if you want to convert to premix. Why are you thinking about converting?

You might tell us the year and model number of the motor. The airbox does have a rubber line with a tee on some models.

1998 150 faststrike Johnson one line looks like it comes from the crank case the other looks like it comes from the top of the fuel pump. I think one hose plugs into the other and the end goes into the air box. I had a low oil alarm come on the other day the system is thirteen years old it is starting to seep oil around the front of it don't want it to go out and burn the cylinders out cheaper to mix than replace the pump and if someone has cut the purple wire the no oil alarm probley won't go off why would someone cut the wire unless it was going off Cub48 PS do you unplug the 4 wire connector coming from the vro and the 2 wires at the oil tank cut oil line and plug. to premix.

Where is oil seeping from? I have that exact motor, except in the Ocean Runner trim. My OMS works flawlessly.

I would reconnect the purple wire and see if you get an alarm. You might run a tank of premix, until you are certain the OMS system is injecting the correct amountof oil.
