I have just bought a 150 johnson fast strike. 1998 I was reading on here
and found there was a fitch fast strike. what is the differance in the two.
I am thinking fuel injection verse carb. which repair manual is the best for the buck. as i am going to do maintance on it before putting it in the water. like water pump, lower unit, ect. As i am a newbe to the forum. i have had boats
for years. I have not worked on them much. I am an auto technician. so two
stroke verse 4 stroke is some differance. all I need is the correct way to do the repairs. as i like things to operate and look like the day they were new.
what about the hot foots. my boat has one I am used to the old shifter.
can the old shifter be connected with out buying new cable that is if i don't like it. I know i will be asking more questions so thanks for the help ahead of time.Steve

These are the best factory manual you can get, if they don't go up to your year then you'll probably need to get one from a dealer, seloc or clymer isn't as good.

You are correct, the FICHT system is/was OMC's Direct Injection 2 stroke system, predcessor to the E-tec's out now.

I assume since you didn't know about FICHT's that your's is carbed, which is a great engine by the way.
